VCV State Events Cancelled for 2020
All VCV Open and Championship events scheduled for the remainder of 2020 have been cancelled, due to the continued risks of Covid-19. All VCV and Connie Classic Aggregates have also be cancelled.

Club Events
Our Club will be able to hold Club only events when cleared to do so by the Victorian Government, but only for our own members.
This means that we cannot compete with other VCV clubs during this time, nor allow riders from other clubs to participate.
A Pandemic Safety Officer must be implemented to have the Club comply with all safety requirements required.

Covid 19 Update
What does this mean for our Club/s and our members inĀ Regional areas:
Outdoor exercise and sporting activities are restricted to the 1.5m distancing rule.
The actual date of resumption is now due to resume in late November.
The advice from Victoria Police is that the issuing of permits will only be resumed when restrictions are eased or lifted and advised by the Government, whenever that may be!!

Discussion has been conducted between the A.V.C.C. and V.C.V. together with Cycling Australia in relation to the associations being absorbed (joining) into the new cycling body know as AusCycle. This will affect memberships and sanctioning of riders and clubs. There has been a great deal of debate via ‘Zoom’ meetings as to the right step to take for the future of cycling where veteran age cyclists are concerned. Some States are for the move to AusCycle and some against, and the same consensus with the individual clubs and members, both under the A.V.C.C. & V.C.V and Australian Cycling banners.
There simply is not enough space here to go into the details in full depth as we would need pages to write the full transcripts.
We can advise that AusCycle will commence operations on November 1st 2020 regardless of any meeting with any club or association.
The main concept is ‘one licence’ that will allow you to race, Road, Track, BMX, MTB, Cyclo Cross, Gravel, Veterans anywhere in Australia where the host club is AusCycle sanctioned. This means one fee for one licence.
Should anyone want to discuss the relevance of the move, or suggested move, I can run around the basics with you if you call me (Chris) on 03 58 210 232 between the hours of 10.30 am to 4.30 pm weekdays or between 7 and 8 during the evening 03 5822 2747.
You may be able to find all the details you want by looking at the AusCycle website (FAQ) . . . go to Cycling Victoria website and it will take you to AusCycle automatically.
